1. Select cooling water pipe type
The choice of cooling pipe is very important. The size of the cooling pipe needs to be strictly matched with the size of the water nozzle. It is recommended that you design the oil pipe first. We divide the cooling pipe type into two types, soft water pipe and hard water pipe. These two types of fittings use completely different materials.
Select water connection type
Barbed Fitting
The barbed connector is simple, not very expensive, easy to use, and only has one number to mark. A digital marking of the ID (inner diameter) of the water pipe will be compatible with the joint itself. That said, there are three main types of barbed connectors: 10mm mm (3/8), 12mm(7/16) and 13mm(1/2). This is not necessary, but it is recommended to use some type of fastening system to secure the pipe to the barbed fitting. Again, there are several types of clamps available. Although barbed devices are easy to use and inexpensive, they are often aesthetically challenging. More directly, a little ugly.
Compression fitting
Compression fittings, like barbed fittings, can also support a variety of water pipes. Unlike simple barbed fittings, compression fittings have two numbers, and the ID and OD markings of the tube must match the fitting.
Cooling water quick connector
Cooling water quick couplings are commonly used in two sizes and two types. The most common sizes are 12mm and 16mm tubes. The hard pipe joint is characterized by only one digital label, which is the outer diameter of the pipe it can accommodate.
The joint of the hard pipe can be a simple push-in type (HD pipe). HD has two o-rings on the inside-you just need to push the tube into the fitting and the airtight seal is made.
Just like hoses and other water-cooled components, you can't just buy hard pipes from the market. The pipe you use must exactly match the 12 or 16mm outer diameter (or the diameter set of the joint), otherwise leakage may occur and your components may be damaged. Always choose parts from well-known manufacturers to avoid unpleasant experiences with water cooling.
